As the 2026 Georgia High School Association football season has kicked off, the Blessed Trinity Titans opened their season on Thursday with win over the Decatur Bulldogs in the annual Corky Kell-Dave Hunter Classic, marking the 16th consecutive season in which the Titans began the year with a victory.
"Good night for the guys. I thought they played really well," Blessed Trinity head coach, Ed Dudley said following the Titans' 44-0 win over Decatur, praising his players for their overall performance. "Bounced around, we executed, won the turnover battle, so I felt really good about the game," Dudley said of the Titans' win, noting just one Blessed Trinity player, Quinn Jacobs (ankle) suffered an injury.
"Great way to start our season," Dudley said, as the Titans set the tone defensively early in the first quarter, surrendering -2 total yards on their first two defensive stances. "We have high expectations and high standards for our defense. They're rough and tough, they keep us in games," Dudley said of his defensive unit, which held Decatur to 93 total yards from scrimmage, forced two turnovers and finished with 3 sacks.
"They have a lot of tough games coming up so we'll see how they do," Dudley said, adding that moving forward, "week to week improvement" will be the message to his players throughout the season. "We're one of the top ten toughest schedules in the state and we just have to play it out," Dudley said.
And to Dudley's point, the Titans will host Milton, who won back to back state championships in 2023 and 2024, next Friday, followed by back to back GHSA Private state champions, Hebron Christian. Offensively, the Titans were led by running back MJ Craft, who rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries, while quarterback, Ty Page went 3-7 for 83 passing yards and two touchdowns.
