PSN Spotlight: Mays Raiders Football Ready For 2019 Season

As we continue our summer tour, visiting with teams during their summer workouts, we got a chance to visit with the Mays Raiders football team. Mays is coming off of a 2018 season that saw the Raiders finish 6-5 overall and 6-2 in the Georgia High School Association Class 6A region 5 standings.

The Raiders would end up with a third place finish in the final region standings, advancing to the first round of the GHSA 6A state playoffs where they would fall to the Lanier Longhorns 20-12, bringing their season to an end. Despite things not going as they hoped, the Raiders had made history last season playing in the annual Corky Classic, being the first Atlanta Public School to do so, and also participating in the annual Cam Newton Classic.

While visiting with the Raiders, we spoke with Head Coach, Niketa Battle about the high points from last season, as well as things they did not do well last year and how they are using both ends of the spectrum to prepare for the upcoming season.
