In one of the most exciting Georgia high school basketball atmospheres in recent years, the B.E.S.T. Academy Eagles boys basketball team captured their first state championship in program history after defeating Southwest Macon 62-56 for the Georgia High School Association Class 1A Division I championship at a sold out Macon Centreplex.
On Wednesday, the Eagles completed their celebration as they were presented with their championship rings during a ceremony with players, coaches and members of their families and the B.E.S.T. Academy community in attendance.
"Man, a wonderful feeling. God is good and all praise to him and to my wife at home that's been holding me down," B.E.S.T. Academy head coach, Brian Weeden, said during Wednesday's celebration, thanking his coaching staff, players and community for their efforts and contributions which led to their historic season. "A great way to cap it off," Weeden said of the ring ceremony.
