Since coming under the direction of head coach, Darren Myles in 2005, the Carver Panthers have found a good amount of success, having missed the Georgia High School Association state championship tournament just four times, claiming two region championships in that span and with this season included, have a record of 148-82.
Now, at 9-0 for the 2025 season, the Panthers are one win away from completing the regular season unbeaten, something they last did in 2007, and claiming their third region title under Myles, who also reached a 150 career wins this season back in September, just the third Atlanta Public Schools football coach to reach the career milestone.
"Senior leadership," Myles said when asked what he believes has made this season a special one for the Panthers. "The team overall led by our group of seniors that have been in the program for four years, have really been locking in and it's just not on the football field. It's been throughout the building, it's been permeating throughout the campus," Myles continued.
"Our guys know what's expected of them and they're carrying out the expectations on and off the field and that's been the biggest thing that has stood out," Myles said, crediting his players for their ability and willingness to battle through "tough" game situations and being supportive of one another.
