The Hillgrove Hawks are coming off of one of their best finishes to a seasons since coming under the leadership of head coach, Gregory Moultrie, who took over in 2021, reaching the Georgia High School Association Class 6A semifinals. And final the Hawks were not able to walk away with a victory in their final four matchup with the Pebblebrook Falcons, Coach Moultrie believes the "experience" may have been "the best thing" for his players as they look towards the 2026-2027 season.

"The returning guys, they're hungry, they want to get back to it, the coaching staff as well, so guys are locked in on trying to keep the main thing, the main thing," Moultrie said of the Hawks mindset as they look to build off of last season's success. "Let's play one more game. Final four, plus one more game," Moultrie said of the Hawks' approach to the upcoming season while in the midst of summer workouts.

"Looking for synergy amongst the guys, the comradery," Moultrie continued as he explained the importance for his players to adhere to their philosophy as some return from playing with their respective summer programs in order to achieve the team's goals. "Making sure what we've tried to instill in them during the year in our season continues to show growth in our steps," Moultrie said.
