With the start of the 2026-27 Georgia High School Association volleyball season nearing, the Harrison Hoyas are preparing for season three under the direction of head coach, Kristina Johnson, who has led the Hoyas to back to back 25 plus win seasons, which also included region championships, since taking over in 2024 and Johnson is looking forward to get the new season underway.
"Honestly, this team," Johnson said when asked what excites her the most about preparing for year three at her alma mater. "Year three, they know me, they know the expectations. First practice in the books yesterday and they just came out ready," Johnson said of her players approach to resuming summer workouts following the dead week.
And for Johnson, when it comes to building off of the success of her first two seasons, "the standard" has been established and she hopes her players continue to "bring everyday" as they continue getting ready for the upcoming season, crediting the Hoya senior players for adding the "mind over matter" moniker not just to their team shirts, but to their daily efforts.
Harrison will open the season on August 6 at the Pope Greyhounds.
