Marietta Defense Smothers South Cobb, Blue Devils Advance To Thanksgiving Tournament Championship
On Tuesday, the Marietta Blue Devils women's basketball team faced the South Cobb Lady Eagles in a semi final match up of the Blue Devils Thanksgiving Tournament. The Blue Devils would establish there presence on both ends of the court early on in the first quarter as their full court pressure would lead to several South Cobb turnovers. By the end of the opening quarter, Marietta led South Cobb 24-8. The defensive pressure was proven to be too much for the Eagles to overcome and on the offensive end, Marietta got solid production from several players including Chloe Sterling, who finished with 18 points, and Lauren Walker, who finished with 14 points. Kayla Day added nine points and Loren Nelson and Makayah Harris each ended with eight points. Watch highlights from the game below now!
