Dunwoody Takes Sole Possession Of First In Area With 21-0 Win Over Lakeside

Dunwoody defeats Lakeside to take sole possession of first place in area standings

On Wednesday, the Dunwoody Wildcats hosted the Lakeside Vikings in an area match up, as both teams came in unbeaten in area play. Dunwoody would set the tone defensively during the first Lakeside drive, forcing them to punt the ball and on the ensuing Wildcats’ possession, a Gracie Pucket touchdown pass to Lily Garrigan would give Dunwoody a 6-0 lead.

The Dunwoody defense would continue to hold strong throughout the first half and when Lakeside found themselves pinned deep in their own territory, a bad snap into the end zone would result in a safety, giving Dunwoody an 8-0 lead.

The Wildcats offense would continue to click as well as Pucket and Garrigan would connect for a second time, giving Dunwoody a 15-0 lead after the extra point. A second half rushing touchdown by Sophia Moncrief would help the Wildcats pick up the 21-0 win to remain unbeaten in area play and take sole possession of first place in the standings.
