Georgia High School Association To Allow Use Of Football Helmets

On Wednesday, the Georgia High School Association announced that they would allow football teams to implement the use of helmets during conditioning under the COVID-19 guidelines. GHSA noted that, with the use of helmets, they must be sanitized before and after each workout session. In a note from executive director Dr. Robin Hines on the GHSA website, it also states that GHSA and the Special Medicine Advisory Counsel will meet next week to discuss the acclimatization period, which is scheduled to start July 27, and the first date of practice, which is scheduled for August 1. Earlier this week it was reported that to date, 300 cases of the coronavirus were reported by teams. Cases included players and coaches.
