Panthers Fight Off Wildcats As Forest Park Defeats Lovejoy 46-43 To Even Regular Season Series


On Tuesday, the Forest Park Panthers girls basketball team hosted their region rival, the Lovejoy Wildcats in the final regular season home game for the Panther seniors. Despite North Carolina State signee, Genesis Bryant sitting this one out for the Wildcats due to a ankle injury, Lovejoy would jump out to an 9-0 lead as Georgia Tech signee Anaya Boyd (14 points) would score eight of those nine points.

However, the Panthers would respond by outscoring the Wildcats 14-4 to take a 14-13 lead in the second quarter. Throughout the second quarter, the two teams would exchange leads several times but it would be Forest Park holding a one point 18-17 lead at the half. In the third quarter, Lovejoy outscore Forest Park 18-14 and take a 35-32 lead into the fourth quarter. However, several Wildcats' turnovers forced by the Panthers would help Forest Park regain the lead and go on to pick up the 46-43 win. Watch highlights from the game below now!
