Indians Hold Off Justices As McEachern Edges John Marshall 70-69
On Friday, the McEachern Indians boys basketball team, the No. 4 team in the state of Georgia, took on the John Marshall Justices, the No. 12 team out of Virginia, on the opening night of the Tournament of Champions holiday basketball tournament.
The two teams would go back with fourth in the first quarter as Auburn signee, Sharife Cooper would score the Indians first nine points and the teams would be tied 17 all at the end of the first quarter.
In the second period of action, McEachern would outscore John Marshall 27-16 to take a 44-33 lead into the locker room at the half but the Justices would in turn outscore the Indians 18-10 in the third quarter and trail 54-51 heading into the final period of play.
In the fourth quarter, John Marshall would open up outscoring McEachern 16-12 to take a 67-66 lead but Cooper would draw two seperate fouls down the stretch to help the Indians pick up the 70-69 win. Watch highlights from the game below now!
