War Eagles Back On Winning Track As Woodward Defeats Mays In Classic

On Saturday, the Woodward War Eagles boys basketball team took on the Mays Raiders in the second night of the annual War Eagle Classic. This would also be the second night in a row that the War Eagles would take to the court without UNC commit, Walker Kessler, who was out due to illness. The absence of Walker prove to not be an issue for Woodward as they were in control early on with a 20-9 lead at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, the War Eagles would outscore the Raiders 12-6 to take a 32-15 lead into the locker room at the half. By the end of the third quarter, Woodward would find themselves up 60-33 and thanks to solid performances from several players on both ends of the court, the War Eagles would go on to pick up the 70-46 win. Will Richard would lead the War Eagles with 23 points. Watch highlights from the game below now!
