Westlake Rolls To 45-14 Win Over Pebblebrook, Improves To 2-0 In Region Play

On Friday, the Westlake Lions football team hosted the Pebblebrook Falcons in a key region rivalry as both teams came into the match up 1-0 in region play. On the Lions opening drive, Jimmy Inman would connect with Chase Lloyd for a touchdown and Westlake would add a two point conversion to take a 8-0 lead.

Westlake, known for their one, two punch quarterback rotation and would get another passing touchdown as RJ Johnson would find a wide open Rodnet Shelly, who would shake off a couple of Falons' defenders and find the end zone. The Lions would add another two point conversion and take a 16-0 lead.

Pebblebrooks' Naquay Lott would later find Benjamin Spencer, who would make a leaping one hand catch for a touchdown and the Falcons would find themselves trailing 16-6. However, the Lions defense would play stingy throughout the night, while their offense seemed to score at will, including two big rushing touchdowns by Jamari Sirmons, as Westlake would roll to a 45-14 win.
