PSN Spotlight: Grady's Fredrick Allen Hamilton Transitions From Cross Country To 300 Meter Hurdl
For Grady High School's Frederick Allen Hamilton, running track began in the 8th grade where he won the 800 meter state title. He ran two years of cross country for the Knight qualifying for sectionals and state both years. As he heads into his junior season, Hamilton has opted to not run cross country so that he can build muscle and prepare for the upcoming track season. He has been apart of Grady's varsity track team for since his freshman year and he ran hurdles for the first time last March. Hamilton hopes to get a scholarship to run hurdles in college. He made it to regionals in his first year of running the 300 hurdles and this past summer he made it to regionals and the jr.olympics for USATF in the 4x100, 4x400, 4x800, and 400 meter hurdles. He also made all American in the 4x100, 4x400, and 4x800. He is currently training with Coach Tony Bennett in the hurdles to get ready for the upcoming track season and we got a chance to catch up with him talk about his transition from cross country to the hurdles and more.
