Eagles Best KIPP Collegiate To Open Season With 28-12 Win

As Friday Night Lights officially got underway in Georgia, the B.E.S.T. Academy Eagles took on the KIPP Atlanta Collegiate Warriors in the season opener for both teams. The Eagles would get an instant boost from their defense as KIPP's Demarco Brownlee would thrown an interception that the Eagles would return for a touchdown. Later in the first, the Warriors would put together a drive that would lead to a touchdown pass by Brownlee as KIPP would tie up the game 6-6.

In the second quarter, B.E.S.T. would get some good production from their ground game including a huge run on third and 18 by Khaliq Brock as he would drag several Warriors down inside the one yard line setting up a first and goal. On the very next play, the Eagles would go right back to Brock who would punch it in for the touchdown as the Eagles would go up 12-6. They would go on to pick up the 28-12 win to take the season opener. Watch highlights from the game below now!
