Tyree Nelson, Mays Raiders Ground Game Solid In 17-0 Win Over Carver In Preseason Scrimmage

On Saturday, the Mays Raiders and the Carver Atlanta Panthers took the field in a high school football preseason match up as both teams get set for the season to officially kick off next week. Neither team would be able to get much going offensively early on as the first quarter would come to an end with the game remaining scoreless.

In the second quarter, the Raiders would continue to work their ground game, feeding the ball to Tyree Nelson who would have several successful runs on a late Raiders drive that would eventually lead to Nelson punching the ball into the end zone to put Mays on the board, 6-0 with :41 to go in the second quarter.

In the third quarter, with Jalion Brown in at quarterback, the Raiders would strike again as Brown would go deep to Tavarious Carswell for a 60 yard touchdown. Nelson would later score on the two point conversion and the Raiders would take a 14-0 lead. Mays would later add a field and go on to win by a final of 17-0.
