Lions End Tigers 11 Game Win Streak, Westlake Defeats Fayette County 79-68, Wins Peach State Classic

On the final night of the annual Peach State Classic, the Westlake Lions boys basketball team took on the Fayette County Tigers, who came into the match up on an 11 game win streak. As the game got underway, the Tigers would gain momentum very early on as they jumped out to a 14-1 lead behind big baskets from Jekobe Coleman and Josh Dupree.

The Tigers would go on to take a 20-5 lead at the end of the first quarter. Despite the large deficit, the Lions would not lose their composure as senior Quincy Olivari would lead the Lions to outscoring the Tigers 21-8 in the second quarter and Westlake would trail 28-26 at the half.

In the third quarter, Olivari and the Lions would continue to keep their cool and take their first lead of the night thanks to a tip put back by Dyante Page, who hit a clutch three point basket in the second quarter to cut the then Tigers lead to four points. After taking the lead in the third quarter, the Lions would never relinquish it and go on to win by a final of 79-68. Olivari would end the night with 25 points.
