PSN Spotlight: Westlake, Cedar Grove Spring Football Game

We are about two and a half months away from the start of the 2018 Georgia High School Association football season, but as spring's end is almost near, we got a taste of a little head to head football action as the Cedar Grove Saints hosted the Westlake Lions.

For both teams, the overall focus of the game was for each coaching staff to get an early look at where their respective teams stand and see what areas they will each need to work on over the summer to prepare for the 2018 season.

Last season both Westlake and Cedar Grove advanced to the playoffs, however, Westlake would fall in the opening round of the GHSA 7A playoffs to Marietta, while Cedar Grove would lose to Calhoun in the GHSA 3A semifinals, which ended their bid to repeat as state champs.

The loss was also the only loss the Saints suffered last season. After the game, both head coaches spoke with Prep Sports Nation to discuss what they saw in the game and will take away from it to help prepare for this upcoming season. Watch the post game interviews and highlights below now!
