Astros Extend Win Streak To 6 As Douglass Defeats South Atlanta 61-26


Riding a five game win streak, the Douglass Astros hosted the South Atlanta Lady Hornets on Saturday in a key region match up. The Astros came into the night with a one game lead over KIPP, who they defeated on Friday night, 59-44.

Astros' Nekiyah Thompson was coming off a 30 point performance against KIPP, which also allowed the junior to surpass 1,000 career points. In the first quarter, the Astros appeared to pick up right where they left off on Friday after opening up the period on a 15-4 run and ending the quarter with a 24-4 lead.

Thompson would score 22 points for the night but it would be Douglass' Ashley McKee leading all players with 24 points as the Astros would go on to win by a final score of 61-26. Watch highlight from the game below now!
