Marist Lady War Eagles Open Up Season With 43-24 Win Over Pace Lady Knights Behind Diarra Oden's

On Saturday, the Marist Lady War Eagles hosted the Pace Academy Lady Knights in girls basketball and it would be the first game of the season for both teams. Diarra Oden would score the first six points of the game as the War Eagles would get out to a 6-0 lead early in the first quarter.

Marist would go on to close out the opening period with a 13-9 lead. In the second quarter, the Lady Knights would go on a 7-2 run to get within one point of the War Eagles as they would trail 17-16 but Marist would close out the half leading 21-16 after Annabelle Ewing would make a two point basket just before the buzzer.

In the second half, Marist would begin to pull away from Pace building a 33-17 lead by the end of the third quarter. The War Eagles would go on to win by a final of 43-24. Oden would lead all players with 16 points. Watch highlights from the game below now!
