As the 2025-2026 Georgia High School Association season continues, winter sports are gearing up to get underway and on Saturday, Dekalb County Athletics hosted their first ever county wide media day bringing together basketball, wrestling and flag football teams from Dekalb County Schools.
"This is awesome. We've never had that in wrestling before so the fact that they're recognizing us is really cool," Dunwoody wrestling head coach, Luke McSorley said of Saturday's event hosted by Dekalb County Athletics.
"I'm impressed by this. This is a great display and I'm proud that Dekalb County put this together," M.L. King boys basketball head coach, Nicholas Harris said noting how in years past, media day events were exclusive to their respective sport. "It's good to see all the winter sports come together and the presentation is real nice," Harris added.
"I think this is a great opportunity for the entire county," Lithonia flag football head coach Christopher Jones said of the media day which his team was "excited" to take part in. "I think it's something that they can build on and look forward to in the future," Jones continued.
"Dekalb County did a great job with this, just bringing everybody together before the season even starts," Dunwoody flag football head coach, Montez Swinney said as he praised DCA for hosting the event and allowing all the programs to come together.

Nice to see different winter sports getting attention together as opposed to the larger winter sports programs. It's really a lot of fun to organize those events ahead of time, and it's a lot of fun to have a lot of people working together to organize those events. To be honest with you, chiropractic billing in USA is a lot of fun behind the scenes in the sense that a lot of people have to work together to do the billing.
