Chamblee Blanks Arabia Mountain 12-0, 10 K's For Lily McCord

Chamblee pitcher Lily McCord faces an Arabia Mountain batter in 10 strikeout performance

On Monday, the Chamblee Bulldogs softball team increased their Georgia High School Association Class 5A Region 4 standings lead to two games over Decatur as they defeated the Arabia Mountain Rams 12-0. The win pushed the Bulldogs’ lead over the Rams to three games and they will have a chance to make it a four game lead over the Rams on Tuesday as they two will wrap a home and home season series.

Chamblee’s win over Arabia Mountain was highlighted by a 10 strikeout performance by pitcher, Lily McCord, who opened up the game striking out the first three batters she faced in the top of the first inning. McCord would add two more strikeouts in the top of the second inning after getting Arabia Mountain’s Madison Heath to ground out to start the inning, she would then sit Tamera Roberts and Lindsay Thomas.

McCord would only allow one hit on Tuesday, which came in the top of the third inning. Offensively, the Bulldogs got things going in the bottom of the first inning thanks to a two out, two run single by none other than McCord as Chamblee would take a 2-0 lead. A two out, two run double by Ava Pelletieri later in the inning would push Chamblee’s lead to 4-0 before the Rams would finally get out of the inning. Chamblee would add three runs in the bottom of the second inning and then five more in the bottom of the fourth in route to the win.
