GHSA To Allow Conditioning Beginning June 8


Following their latest meeting, the Georgia High School Association announced that the member schools will be allowed to open up for conditioning only beginning June 8, 2020. Under the guidelines, all summer workouts will be voluntary and conditioning only with no balls or sports specific equipment allowed. The guidelines also recommend that staff and student athletes be screened prior to each workout. Other guidelines include a limit of 20 individuals which is to include coaches, per workout at any given time and no use of locker rooms or shower facilities. According to the notes from the GHSA meeting, they will continue to monitor data released on COVID-19 and as date improves, restrictions may be reduced.
