Blessed Trinity Edges Denmark 20-19, Hands Danes First Loss Of Season
On Friday, the Blessed Trinity Titans football team hosted the Denmark Danes in a key region match up with implications in the Georgia High School Association Class 4A Region 7 standings. As the game got underway, neither defense would give up much as the game would remain scoreless throughout the first quarter. In the second Denmark would get a bit of an offensive spark after Aaron McLaughlin would connect with ZeVion Capers for a big first down and later on the same drive, Jordon Brunson would rush for a Danes touchdown to give Denmark a 6-0 lead after a failed extra point attempt.
Each team's defense would continue to put pressure on the opposing offense throughout the remainder of the second quarter, as neither team would score the rest of the way in the first half with Denmark holding onto their 6-0 lead heading into the locker room at halftime. In the third quarter, the Titans would score back to back rushing touchdowns as Elijah Green and Justice Hayes would each rush for a touchdown to give Blessed Trinity a 14-6 lead. Denmark would respond with two touchdowns of their own including a rushing touchdown by McLaughlin and the Danes would find themselves holding onto a 19-14 lead. However, the Titans would not be outdone, as Duncan Reavis would find James Bryant for the game winning touchdown as they would get the win, 20-19, handing the Danes their first loss of the season.
