Top 100 Recruit, Demouy Kennedy Staying In State, Rolling With The "Tide"
On Saturday, one the nation’s top football recruits in the class of 2020 announced his commitment to stay home and “Roll with the Tide”. Four star linebacker, Demouy Kennedy, also ranked in the top 100 overall recruits in the nation and the No. 5 prospect in Alabama according to 247Sports, decided that he wanted to continue his academic and football career in his home state and with the Alabama Crimson Tide. The 6-foot-2, 204 pound confirmed his commitment on Sunday via Twitter saying he was “100% committed” choosing the Tide over Auburn, Florida State, LSU and other top programs from around the country. In an interview with 247Sports, Kennedy said that how the Tide plans to use him played a role in his decision to commit to Alabama. “Bama, they had me as a hybrid and that’s what I’ve always wanted to play”, adding that LSU told him they would use him as a pass rusher and had no plans to drop him in coverage, which he was not a fan of. He also made it clear that he was done with his recruiting process and now fully focused on his final high school season stating, “I’m shutting everything down.”
