Wilson's Three Goals Lead Armuchee To 4-0 Win Over Hapeville As Indians Advance To GHSA 2A Secon

On Friday, the opening round of the Georgia High School Association state playoffs got underway and in boys Class 2A action, the Hapeville Hornets, in their inaugural soccer season, hosted the Armuchee Indians.

In the first half, the Indians would be the aggressors and led by Simon Wilson's three goals, Armuchee would hold a 4-0 lead at the half. In the second half, the Hornets would finally get some offensive production as Alex Barnett and Steven Tete would each score a goal to cut the Indians lead to two as Hapeville trailed 4-2.

With time winding down, the Hornets would get a few more shots on goal but great defense by Armuchee goal keeper Alex Lyle would keep the Hornets off the board as the Indians would pick up the 4-2 win and end the Hornets' historic season. Watch highlights from the game below now!
