Eagles Soar To 18-4 Win As Mt. Zion Defeats Douglas County For Second Straight Win
After finishing the 2017 season with the third place spot in the Georgia High School Association Class 1A state playoffs, the Mt. Zion Eagles softball team have swung into the new season with a 2-1 start. After splitting their two games over the weekend at the Trojan Classic, the Eagles went into Monday with a match up against the Douglas County Tigers.
The Eagles would wast no time getting out to an early lead scoring eight runs in the first inning including a three run triple by Kristi Rogers with two outs, as Mt. Zion cruised to an 18-4 win. After the game we spoke with Eagles head coach Jennifer Carter who talked about how impressed she is with her team's early 2-1 start especially after losing five players to graduation after last season.
