Milton, Lambert Defeat Lassiter Duo For GHSA 6A-7A Girls and Boys Lacrosse Titles, 12th For Milton,


On Saturday, at the Georgia High School Association 6A-7A Girls and Boys championship games, the Lassiter Trojans had a chance to close out their 2018 lacrosse season with championship wins by both the girls and boys teams.

The Lady Trojans would first face the defending champs, a Milton team that has won 11 GHSA girls lacrosse titles. Lassiter would find themselves getting out to an early lead, but the Eagles would fight back and take the lead in the second half.

Late in the game, the Eagles would take an 11-8 lead and look to be closing the game out, but the Trojans would score two quick goals to make it a 11-10 game with less than two minutes to play. However, with possesion in their favor, Milton would be able to run out the clock to pick up the win and claim the GHSA 6A-7A girls lacrosse title, their twelfth in school history and their second in a row.

In boys action, the defending champs, the Lassiter Trojans would only see one lead which be a 2-1 lead early in the first period. After the Longhorns would tie the contest up 2-2, they would go on a 4-0 to take a 6-2 lead into the locker room at the half.

In the third period, the Longhorns would outscore the Trojans 3-2 to maintain a 9-4 lead at the end of the period and in the fourth period, Lambert would once again outscore Lassiter 3-2 and pick up a 12-6 win to knock off the defending champs for the GHSA 6A-7A championship and complete their perfect season with a 22-0 record.
