Wildcats On To Second Round Of Region Playoffs As Dunwoody Defeat Johns Creek 5-1

The first round of the Georgia High School Association Regional playoffs continued on Tuesday as the Dunwoody Wildcats hosted the Johns Creek Gladiators. The game would remain scoreless through the first three innings despite Dunwoody getting men on base in both the bottom of the second inning and the bottom of the third inning.

However in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Wildcats would pour it on scoring four runs courtesy a pair of two run doubles by Walker Wicklund and Lindsey Puckett as Dunwoody would take a 4-0 lead.

A solo shot home run by Johns Creek would make it 4-1 game in the top of the fifth inning but in the bottom of the fifth, with bases loaded and one out, Heather Yancy would send a rocket to left field for a sacrifice fly to make it a 5-1 game in favor of the Wildcats.

Dunwoody would go on to win 5-1 to advance to the second round of Region 7, Class 6A playoffs. Watch highlights below.
