Dunwoody Lady Wildcats Run Away With 8-0 Win Over Chattahoochee Cougars

On Monday, the Dunwoody Lady Wildcats hosted the Chattahoochee Cougars in high school softball action. In the bottom of the first inning, the Wildcats would threaten to score first after loading the bases and Heather Yancy would step to the plate with two outs and launch one to right field but the Cougar's Britney Woodruff would come up with the catch for the third out of the inning.

As play continued in the bottom of the third inning and the game still scoreless, the Wildcats would once again threaten to score but this time make good as they would take a 1-0 after an RBI double by Mckenzie Hunt. Later in the inning, the Wildcats would tack on another run courtesy a Heather Yancy sacrifice fly and Dunwoody would go up 2-0.

Still in the bottom of the third inning, after Sara Goodelman would be walked, Nicole Mulford would send one to cleft field and Goodelman would score from the first to give the Wildcats a 3-0 lead despite Mulford getting caught in a pickle trying to round second and being tagged out for the third out of the inning. In the fourth inning, the Wildcats would pick up four more runs and another in the bottom of the fifth inning and go on to win by a final score of 8-0. See highlights below.
