Harrison's Fields Back On The Map, Decommits From Penn St.
On Tuesday, 5-Star quarterback, Justin Fields of Harrison High School in Harrison, Georgia announced that he would recant his commitment to Penn State University and reopen his recruiting. Considered by many as the country's number one dual threat quarterback, Fields has nearly 40 scholarship offers including many of the biggest programs in the nation. Fields committed to Penn St. back in December, but on Tuesday announced via Twitter, "After many hours of prayer and discussion with my family, I've decided to decommit from Penn State University and reopen my recruitment." Fields thanked Penn St. head coach James Franklin and went on to add that his decision to decommit from the Nittany Lionswas not a "reflection of any deficiencies of PSU" or coaching staff and players. Even though Fields has opted to decommit from PSU, he also noted that playing for the Nitanny Lions would is still an option saying, "they will remain one of the top schools that I would consider." No word from Penn State's Franklin on Fields' decision. See Fields' 2016 highlights below.
