Wildcats Cruise To 2nd Round In Westminster's 22-2 Win Over Woodward

On Monday, the opening round of the Georgia High School Association Class 1A-6A Girls Lacrosse began with the Westminster Lady Wildcats hosting the Woodward Academy Lady War Eagles. The Lady Wildcats would waste no time getting things going on the offensive end as Sr. #20 Christina Dalton would put Westminster on the board with only 1:50 ticking off the clock giving the lady Wildcats the early 1-0 lead.

Three minutes later, Sr. #4 Margaret Silliman would slash across the middle, taking the pass from Jr. #7 Elisabeth Maxwell, and connect on the goal to give the Lady Wildcats a 2-0 lead with 20:50 remaining in the first half. As play continued, Westminster would find themselves up 4-0 after Maxwell would score two of her four goals just seconds after assisting Silliman, who scored her second goal of the game with 10:43 to go in the half and Westminster up 12-0.

The Lady Wildcats would go on to close out the half with a 16-0 lead. In the second half, the Lady War Eagles manage to find the goal twice but the Westminster offense proved to be too much of a force to reckon with as they scored six more goals in the second half including Sr. #24 Alex Clark's third goal of the game. The Lady Wildcats would go on to win by a final score of 22-2. They will face the winner of Pinecrest Academy vs Starr's Mill in the second round.
