Lady Vikings Move Closer to Area Title As Northgate Defeats North Atlanta 13-5

On Monday, the Northgate Lady Vikings Lacrosse team traveled to face the North Atlanta Lady Warriors in a game in which a win would put them one step closer to being the number one team in Area 2 heading into the playoffs. The Lady Vikings would jump out to an early 3-1 lead in the first half but the Lady Warriors would make it a 3-2 game with 14:04 to go in the first half. The Vikings would then score three straight goals, including back to back goals by #27 Sydney Tuttle, to go up 6-2 with 9:29 to go in the first half.

North Atlanta’s #11 Cameron Balish would help the Warriors cut the Vikings lead to three when she connect on a goal to make it a 6-3 game but Northgate’s #7 Kenedy Halpin and #13 Chandler West would find the net on back to goals to give the Lady Vikings an 8-3 lead at the half. In the second half, Tuttle would find the net a minute and four seconds into the half to put the Lady Vikings up 9-3 with 23:04 to go in the game and 2:04 later, Tuttle’s teammate #21 Jessica Mason would score to give the Lady Vikings a 10-3 with 21:52 to go.

North Atlanta would manage to finally score in the second half when Balish would score to make it a 10-4 game but the Warriors defense could not find an answer for the Vikings defense as Northgate would go on to win by a final score of 13-5. The Northgate win would improve the Lady Vikings area record to 5-0 and move them one step closer to an Area title. The Vikings will face Newnan on Friday to determine the Area 2 Champion.
