6 Goals In First Half For Cougars As Alexander Take Down Tri Cities 10-0
On Tuesday, the Alexander Lady Cougars looked to win their fifth consecutive game as they hosted the Tri Cities Lady Bulldogs. With the first half underway, the Cougars got to work scoring just five minutes into the game as #23 Keerston Hambrick would kick in the first score goal for Alexander giving the Cougars the 1-0 lead with 34:59 remaining in the half. Seconds late, the Cougars would take a 2-0 lead after a penalty assessed on the Bulldogs would lead to Alexander's #48 Katie Gamel making good on a penalty kick.
The Cougars would only allow three minutes to tick off the clock before scoring again courtesy of #19 Sara Schultz would kick her first of three goals in the game. With 16:05 to go in the first half, Alexander would hold a 5-0 lead over the Bulldogs but would eventually go up 6-0 after #4 Macey Hodge would score a goal with 12:57 to go and the Cougars would go on to take their six point advantage into the half.
At the start of the second half, Schultz would score her second goal of the game a minute and twenty eight seconds into the second half to Alexander a 7-0 lead. Schultz would get her third goal of the game with 20:35 remaining, giving the Cougars a 8-0 lead. Alexander would go on to score two more goals to take a 10-0 lead forcing the run rule as the Cougars picked up their fifth straight win to improve to 6-1 overall and 3-0 (first place) in their region.
