Caylin Newton Headed to Howard University
Grady High School quarterback, Caylin Newton announced on Thursday that he would be headed to Washington DC to play college ball the Howard University Bisons. Newton, who threw for 3,322 yards and 33 touchdowns and rushed for 1,036 yards and 13 touchdowns, made the announcement via Twitter when he posted a photo of himself next to a Howard University sign with the caption, "I am extremely blessed to be attending Howard University for this upcoming Spring semester! On to the next chapter in my life! #TherealHU." Newton, who is the younger brother of Carolina Panthers MVP quarterback, Cam Newton was being eyed by the Bisons before the 2016 season began and also received offers from Hampton University, Savannah State University, Texas Southern University, and Kentucky Christian University. Newton's father, Cecil Newton Sr. added, "We're happy to be Bisons," adding Howard was a great University before we got here. We're all on board." Newton referred to his son Cam Newton, MVP quarterback of the Carolina Panthers, and his son Cecil Jr. "We're all in this together!"
