Colts Neck High Girls Soccer, USA Today #1
Following their 2015 state title win, the first Group III state title in school history, the Colts Neck High School girls soccer team finds themselves as the USA Today Sports/National Soccer Coaches Association Preseason Super 25 top ranked team for girls fall soccer. The Cougars finished the 2015 season 24-0-1 after they defeated Northern Highlands of Allendale, NJ 1-0 in the Group III state championship courtesy of a penalty kick by Frankie Tagliaferri, who was the 2015-16 American Family Insurance ALL-USA Girls Soccer Player of the Year. Colts Neck's 2015 state title win over Northern Highlands ended the Highlanders streak of title wins after they had previously won four consecutive championships including their 2014 title victory over Colts Neck. Northern Highlands checks in at No. 3 as they head into the 2016 season led by Eva Hurm, who has committed to Notre Dame. Long Island, New York's Massapequa makes the Super 25 list at No. 4 following their 2015 state title which was their third consecutive championship. Rounding out the Super 25 top five is Walsh Jesuit of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio who won their fourth consecutive state title in 2015.
