Starr's Mill Host GHSA 5A Regions 2, 3, 6, 7 Sectionals
On Saturday, the Georgia High School Association Class 5A Regions 2, 3, 5, 7 sectionals took place at Starr’s Mill High School. It would be a good day for the Banneker Trojans as they would qualify several runners for the GHSA 5A state meet, including their girls and boys 4x100M relay teams each with first place finishes. Banneker freshman, Maddison Gardner would finish first in the girls 400M run in a time of 54.49 and would also pick up a second best time in the girls 200 finishing in a time of 24.50 behind Jonesboro’s Yahnari Lyons who finished in a time of 24.49. Lyons would also have the top time in the girls 100M dash in a time of 11.82.
