The Hillgrove Hawks girls basketball team opened up their season on Saturday hosting the 'Forever 14 Classic and took on the South Gwinnet Comets in a game in which the Hawks controlled throughout all four quarters as they end each period of play with the lead in route to the 71-55 win.
"I was impressed with their defensive intensity, I thought they really set the tone of the game with our full court pressure," Hillgrove head coach, Susan Milam, said following the Hawks season opening win which was led by senior guard, Kierra Jackson's 26 points.
"I was pleased with their execution on offense and their willingness to share the ball to the person who had the best shot," Milam said of the Hawks' offensive performance in Saturday's win.
