Douglas County Off To 2-0 Start With Win Over South Cobb


Douglas County defeats South Cobb to improve to 2-0

The Douglas County Tigers are off to a 2-0 start for the 2021 season. After defeating Lithia Springs 17- 5 earlier this week, the Tigers were on the road to take on the South Cobb Eagles. The Tigers would open up the game scoring five runs in the top of the first inning while holding the Eagles scoreless in the bottom half of the frame, taking a 5-0 lead into the top of the second inning.


The Tigers’ bats would continue to stay hot in the top of the second inning as they would tack on six more runs to take an 11-0 lead. Meanwhile, on the mound for Douglas County was pitcher Kaylee Taylor, who would strikeout the first three batters she faced in the bottom of the first inning and then pick up three more strikeouts in the bottom of the second inning. The Eagles would get on the board, picking up two runs in the bottom of the third inning, however the Tigers would pick up the win to improve to 2-0.
