Chamblee leans on 'vibes and leadership' for win over McIntosh

On Tuesday, the Chamblee Bulldogs boys lacrosse team hosted the McIntosh Chiefs in a non-area matchup as both team looked to earn their second straight win. Once underway, the Bulldogs open up the first period of play outscoring McIntosh 5-0 before surrendering a goal to the Chiefs at the start of the second quarter.
As the second period continued, the Bulldogs kept momentum in their a favor as they would outscore the Chiefs 5-2 to take a 10-3 lead at halftime. In the third quarter, the Chiefs were able to keep themselves within one goal of the Bulldogs as they were outscore 3-2, yet still trailed 13-5 heading into the fourth quarter.
Once in the final period of play, Chamblee would would have a repeat performance of the opening quarter as they outscored McIntosh 6-0 to go on and pick up the 19-5 win, improving to 2-1 on the season. "Great vibes from the team. I mean we got a really great leadership group," Chamblee coach, Sam Neuman said of the Bulldogs' performance on Tuesday.
"We have a really good group of guys, they really rally around each other and it's fun to see how they are really growing," Neuman said of the Bulldogs' players, who many of them have played together "since middle school," Neuman noted. "They step up when they need to step up and I think there's a lot of potential with this team," Neuman said.
Tuesday's win marked the Bulldogs' largest margin of victory of their two wins and Neuman credited his players for playing a '"complete game" which is something he noted they will have to be able to accomplish as much each matchup. "You want to make sure that you're playing hard every whistle," Neuman said.
The Bulldogs were lead by senior, Patrick Feaster, who finished with six goals and reached 100 career goals in the win. Chamblee will return to action on Friday when they travel to face East Coweta
