Lithia Springs Improves To 6-0 With 13-10 Win Over Campbell


On Monday, the Lithia Springs Lady Lions softball team was on the road taking on the Campbell Spartans in a non-region match up. The Lions, off to a 5-0 start heading into the contest would start the scoring early as they would take a 2-0 lead in the first inning. The Spartans would answer back in the bottom of the first, scoring five runs to take a 5-2 lead. The Lions would find themselves having to crawl their way out of a whole and would get it started in the top of the second inning when Daija Purnell connected for a two run triple and the Lions trailed 5-4. In the top of the third inning, pitcher Audrey Ward would drive in two more runs to allow the Lions to regain the lead as they went up 6-4. The Spartans would intentionally walk the next batter, Daija Purnell, to load the bases for Apryl Wainwright and Wainwright would make them pay for it with a grounder that makes its way deep into right field for a inside the park grand slam. Lithia Springs would go on to pick up the 13-10 win to improve to 6-0 on the season. Watch highlights from the game below now!
