Decatur's Jordan Walker Named Gatorade Georgia Baseball Player of the Year
On Thursday, the Gatorade Company continued their 35th year of honoring the nation's best high school student athletes and named the Decatur Bulldogs' Jordan Walker the Gatorade Georgia Baseball Player of the Year. Walker, who is considered the No. 2 recruit in the nation according to Perfect Game rankings, is the first baseball player from Decatur High School to earn the honor. The 6-foot-5, 220 pound Walker played third base and pitched for the Bulldogs and was batting.457 with four home runs and 15 RBI's before the season ended. In the classroom, Walker has maintained a 3.98 grade point average. Although Walker has signed his letter of intent to play with the Duke Blue Devils next season, projections have him being drafted in one of the early rounds of this year's Major League Baseball draft.
