Oklahoma Cancels High School Hoops State Tournament And All Spring Sports


On Wednesday, the Oklahoma State Board of Education voted to keep schools closed throughout the state for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year due to the ongoing affects of the coronavirus. Following Wednesday's school closure announcement, the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association held a teleconference on Thursday and voted unanimously to cancel the State Basketball Tournament for Classes 2A through 6A and in addition to the basketball cancellations, all spring sports activities were cancelled for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. It was also noted that OSSAA will announce when summer activities will be permitted to begin. We will keep you up to date on reactions of the cancellation of basketball and spring sports.
