North Gwinnett Open GHSA Volleyball Playoffs With Sweep Of South Gwinnett

On Saturday, the Georgia High School Association volleyball state playoffs got underway and in Class 7A action, the North Gwinnett Bulldogs faced the South Gwinnett Comets. As the match up got started, the Bulldogs would control the first two sets going on to win them 25-10 and 25-9.

In the third set, South Gwinnett do a much better job keeping the game manageable as they would not not let the Bulldogs' lead build more than five throughout the set. North Gwinnett would find themselves up 22-17 late in the set, but the Comets would outscore the Bulldogs 6-1 to make it a 23-23 score but the Bulldogs would score the next two points to win the set 25-23.

The win would allow North Gwinnett to complete the sweep of the Comets and advance to the second round of the GHSA 7A playoffs where they will face the defending state champions, the Walton Raiders. Watch highlights from the match up below now!
