Pace Academy Knights Sweep Crisp County To Advance To GHSA 3A Semi Finals


On the Wednesday, the Georgia High School Association baseball state playoffs continued and in Class 3A action, the Pace Academy Knights hosted the Crisp County Cougars in an Elite 8 match up. In game one, the Knights would jump out to a 4-0 lead with pitcher T.J. Rafeedie on the mound holding the Cougars to just one hit through three innings.

However in the top of the fourth inning, the Cougars would climb back into the contest scoring two runs and would trail 4-3. Later in the top of the sixth inning, after falling behind 5-3, an RBI double by Crisp County's Tanner Massey would once again close the gap as the Cougars trailed 5-4.

In the top of the seventh, the Cougars would have another chance to tie or take the lead, but Andrew Jenkins on the mound for Pace Academy, the closer would strike out the first three batters as the Knights would take game one by a final of 5-4. The Knights would go on to take game two by a final of 14-0 completing the sweep of Crisp County and advancing to the GHSA 3A final four where they will face North Hall.
