Spartans Solidify Second In Final Region Standings As South Paulding Defeats Langston Hughes 16-1

On Monday, the South Paulding Spartans baseball team traveled to take on region rival the Langston Hughes Panthers. With final region standings placement on the line for the Spartans, and for Northgate and Alexander, who went head to head as well on Monday, the Spartans looked to pick up the win to help finish regular season with at least a second place finish depending on the outcome of the Northgate and Alexander game.

South Paulding wasted no time taking care of business as they got out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning. In the third inning, South Paulding would open up the flood gates after having a 5-0 advantage, adding eight more runs to take a 13-0 lead.

Meanwhile, pitching for the Spartans would come mostly from Devin Callahan who struck out six through three innings as the Spartans would go on to pick up the 16-1 win. Watch highlights from the game below now!
