Alexander Keeps Pace With Northgate As Cougars Win Double Header Over Mays

On Wednesday, the Mays Raiders varsity baseball team hosted the Alexander Cougars for a double header with game one being a make up of Monday's rained out contest. For the Cougars, wins in both games would keep them neck and neck with Northgate, meanwhile if the Raiders picked up the wins, they could jump into the regions fourth place spot.

Early on in the game, the Cougars would not have to do much to pick up a few runs a pass ball in the first inning allowed a run to score and then two more pass balls in the top of the second inning allowed two more runs to come in and the Cougars would have a 3-0 lead heading into the bottom of the second inning. In the bottom of the second inning, an RBI double by Davon Adams would help the Raiders get on the board as they trailed 3-1.

However, in the top of the fourth inning, with two outs and runners at second and third for Grant Lunsford, Lunsford would single into right field bringing in two more runs for the Cougars as they took a 5-1 lead and win game one by that same score.
