Parkview Claims GHSA State Title For Seventh Time, Sweeps Mill Creek
It has been three years since the Parkview Panthers baseball team took home a Georgia High School Association state championship and on Thursday, the Panthers would begin a best of three series with the Mill Creek Hawks for opportunity to win their seventh state title in school history. In game one, the Panthers would need extra innings to pick up the 3-1 victory after a two run walk off homerun by Logan Cerny in the bottom of the 8th inning. In game two, the Panthers would take an early 2-0 lead but the Hawks would tie the game up in the bottom of the third inning. Parkview would regain the lead after an RBI single by Brian Ketelsen and the Panthers were back on top 3-2. In the top of the seventh inning, Parkview's Isaiah Byars would drive in two more runs to help the Panthers take a 4-2 lead and they would go on to win 5-2 claiming their seventh GHSA State Championship!
