Defending Champs, Pope Split With Allatoona, Will Play Decisive Game 3

On Tuesday, the defending Georgia High School Association Class 6A champions, the Pope Greyhounds face the Allatoona Buccaneers for the 2018 GHSA 6A Championship. In game one of the best of three series, the Buccaneers would open up with a seven run first inning and would maintain a large lead throughout most of the game.

The Greyhounds would tack on two more runs and make it an 11-9 game in favor of the Bucs, but Allatoona would hold off the Pope rally and take game one 11-9.

In game two, the Greyhounds would get on the board first after a two run single by Andrew Feld would give Pope a 2-0 lead. The Buccaneers would tie the game up in the bottom of the first at 2-2 but would later take a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Later in the top of the seventh, RBI singles by both Antonio Jareno and James Tibbs would tie the game at 4-4 an extra innings would be needed to decide a game two winner.
