Former Norcross High, Five-star Recruit Robert Beal Headed to Athens

On Tuesday morning, IMG Academy pass rusher, Robert Beal announced that he would commit to the University of Georgia. "I'm just a homegrown guy. I love my home, I love my state and I want to help bring a national championship back to Georgia," Beal, a five-star recruit and the top ranked defensive end in the country said on Tuesday. Beal, who is from Norcross, GA and recently transfered from Norcross High to IMG Academy in Florida, is the No. 5 ranked prospect in ESPN's 2017 ESPN 300. Back in November of 2015, Beal originally committed to Notre Dame, his childhood favorite then de-committed in February. Beal was also considering Alabama, Florida St, and Texas, with Bama being a heavy favorite but Beal credits the relationship established with first year Bulldog head coach Kirby Smart for his decision. "It's been great ever since he has been at Georgia. You know, he has been on me, and we talk all the time. It's not really recruiting we talk about all the time, I just keep him updated on everything with me. He's different from everybody else because we don't talk recruiting much."
